Abstract

The book Mathematics Education in the context of Solidarity Economy presents a study involving the teaching and learning process of Mathematics articulated to the development of pedagogical interventions executed together with the members of three Economic Solidarity Projects. The Ethnomathematics Program and Problem Solving are taken as theoretical references and guiding axes in the perspective of discussing Mathematics in a meaningful and contextualized way. The research is characterized by a qualitative approach and is based on action-research with the purpose of helping those involved to assume an emancipatory position in the environment where they are inserted.

Author Biography

Marcelo Bergamini Campos, Rede Municipal de Ensino de Barbacena/MG (Brasil)

A partir da graduação em Matemática pela Faculdade Presidente Antônio Carlos de Barbacena (1989), cursei a Especialização em Educação Matemática: Educação Geométrica na Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora - UFJF (2008). Na sequência, cursei o mestrado na mesma instituição (2012). Atuei na rede estadual de ensino de Minas Gerais durante dez anos e, atualmente, sou professor efetivo da rede municipal de ensino de Barbacena. Enquanto pesquisador, meu interesse é pela investigação e análise/leitura da produção de significados dos estudantes com vistas a uma intervenção mais efetiva em sala de aula.
